Changelog · current: Studio 2.4.0 · Motion v2.4 · Faces v3.1

If it isn’t written down, it didn’t ship.

Every release, dated and numbered. Model versions change what footage looks like, so we tell you when they move — and let you pin the old one for a running project.

Versions per clip, 60 fps native in beta, Faces v3.1.

  • Versions. Every re-shoot stacks as a take on the clip. Compare side by side, promote one, archive the rest. Nothing is overwritten any more.
  • 60 fps native (beta). Studio plans can request 60 fps on shots up to 20 s. Costs 1.5× credits. Rater score is within 1.2 points of 48 fps.
  • Kinema Faces v3.1. Identity consistency across lenses improved from 96.4 to 98.1% on 200-shot sequences. Wardrobe locks now hold through orbit moves.
  • Re-shoot latency. Notes that only touch light or weather re-denoise from step 18 of 40. Median 19 s, was 44 s.
  • POST /v2/shots accepts model_version to pin Motion or Faces for a project. Webhook shot.identity.scored added.
  • Rack focus occasionally overshot the far plane by up to 30 cm on 135 mm shots. Solver clamp added.

Fixes for XML export and the review link player.

  • Resolve XML exported clip in-points off by one frame when the sequence started on a title. Now frame-accurate.
  • Review links on Safari 19 played at 24 fps instead of 48 on battery power. We now force the full rate.
  • C2PA manifest now includes the camera brief, so downstream tools can read the move and lens.

Combined camera moves and the path preview.

  • Two moves at once. Crane up while orbiting, dolly in while racking focus. The solver blends both paths and shows the combined trajectory.
  • Path preview. Top-down map of the solved camera path before you render. Free — it costs no credits.
  • Kinema-2 Motion v2.3. Physics critic retrained on 40% more fabric and water footage. Material realism score 84 → 88.
  • camera.secondary field for combined moves. GET /v2/shots/:id/path returns the solved path as JSON.

4K upscaler v2 and EXR export.

  • Upscaler v2 is conditioned on the Motion latents, not the pixels — it rebuilds weave, skin and rain instead of sharpening edges. Temporal shimmer eliminated in our test set.
  • EXR sequences at 16-bit, with alpha where the shot has a locked product on a plain background.
  • 4K pass now +40 s per 8-second shot, was +70 s.
  • 4K multiplier reduced from ×4 to ×3 credits at 48 fps.

Consent gates, public-figure blocking, release uploads.

  • Real faces need a release. Kinema Faces now detects when a reference is a real person and will not lock it until a signed release is attached to the character.
  • Public figures blocked outright at reference upload. False-positive rate 0.4%; appeal is one click and reviewed by a human within a day.
  • Release documents are stored encrypted per project and included in the audit log for Enterprise.

Kinema-2 Motion: 48 fps native, 60-second shots, Studio.

  • Kinema-2 Motion replaces Kinema-1. 48 real frames per second, no interpolation. Shots up to 60 s. Temporal consistency 91.4 on KinoBench-24, was 76.0.
  • Studio. A timeline editor where every clip is a prompt. Trim, reorder, titles, scratch audio, and re-shoot in place.
  • 12 parametric camera moves with real units — metres per second, degrees, focal length.
  • /v2 API. /v1 remains available until 2027-06-03 with Kinema-1 pinned.
